Pre-election Social Media Shutdown

At ConceptPaper.org we have earlier introduced the concept of Open Algorithm Social Media. It is where the algorithms controlling social media feeds are opened up. Where the algorithms are editable as settings and people get to select and choose more on what comes onto their feeds.

Today we propose the concept of a pre-election social media shutdown. This is because the algorithms are not open. We feel social media should be shut down at elections time since the algorithms are in the control of certain corporations and not the people. We note that these algorithms can influence masses and change election results.

We feel this should not be the case and suggest that first these algorithms need to be opened and be editable. Therefore, until the algorithms are open and editable there should be a pre-election social media shutdown so that elections are not influenced by algorithms and corporations.
